Our History

Rehabilitation & Occupational Medicine was initially established to provide Clinical services to Workman's Compensation patients in the Albuquerque, New Mexico region in 1991. As demand for services increased, a second location in Las Cruces, New Mexico was started in 1996 in collaboration with a group practice known as Family Medical Center. In 1999 services moved to the current location on Foothills Road. In 2000 the Urgent Care was opened and is currently the oldest established Urgent Care facility in the city of Las Cruces. As the focus of care changed to embrace Family Medicine, Imaging, Urgent Care, as well as Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Work Related Injuries the name was changed to Foothills Medical Center. The name change represented a change in care focus and was thought to better represent the focus of care as we move into the future.

Currently Foothills Medical Center provides care to a variety of patients, with a focus on Urgent Care and Family Medicine. Diagnostic Imaging remains a focus with all services, including MRI, CT, X-ray, and Ultrasound. Certification by the American College of Radiology attests to the quality of these services. Musculoskeletal Medicine is a clear specialty area that ensures quality care for musculoskeletal injuries/conditions at the point of service. Musculoskeletal Ultrasound is a unique service provided by certified ARDMS Sonographers on site and typically not available by other providers. Manual Medicine treatment is also provided on site and features treatments not widely available such as Trigenics by certified practitioners. Other balancing, manipulative, and neurophysiologic techniques developed by Dr. Delahoussaye are used for the treatment of the Physical Medicine Patients.

Foothills Medical Center is positioned to meet the care needs of the citizens of Southern New Mexico.
